Let us Visit Your Group!!
If you are always on the hunt for an interesting speaker for your
meetings, why not book one of our experts who can tell your group about
Priddy’s Hard and what it was like to work in a busy Armaments depot. We can
cater our talks to particular areas of interest and can bring our own screen
and slide projection facilities at no extra cost.
Outreach visits cost just £30.00 per visit plus travelling expenses for
the speaker. For more information contact our Curator on 02392 505601.
Ghost Walks at Priddy’s Hard.
Groups can now book a separate individual visit to the Museum at
night!! Why not take a twilight walk around our site led by an Edwardian
Coroner! The walks cost just £4.00 per person and are for groups of between 20
and 30 persons. Tea and Coffee can be served on arrival or after the walk.

30
Tons of weaponry rebuilt by Museum volunteers.
The LIMBO Anti Submarine Mortar (AS Mk 10) formerly sited at HMS
VERNON, Portsmouth has now been rebuilt to provide a major item in the
reserve collection at Explosion!

and Councillor Peter Langdon with the Mortar and magazine/handling facility in
building 309
This weapon was a shipbourne surface to
sub-surface medium range anti-submarine mortar system with a triple barrelled
mortar firing three 175kg projectiles. It was in service on Frigates and
Destroyers in the Royal Navy from the early 1960's to the 1980's.
The move was achieved
using tools and materials from existing resources. This meant that the cost of
the entire operation was just £26.50 - for a new set of heavy-duty door hinges.
Pre booked groups can
now choose to see the reserve gun collection and meet our conservation
volunteers.
