Explosion, Museum of Naval Firepower, at Priddy’s Hard, Gosport has some great activities planned for the half term school holiday from 28 May to 5 June. Bring the family and join us for T-shirt making, Toy Mice hunting, live gun firings and living history re-enactments. Full details below!
If you’re feeling creative, then why not drop into our T-shirt design workshop and create your very own T-Shirt design using fabric pens. Or you can draw on a postcard your own illustration of the wonderful sites on view from our Harbourside Café., address it to yourself or a relative and we will post it for you. All materials are provided and you can take your designed shirt/postcard home with you to keep. Tickets cost £3 per child (not including access to the Museum) and workshops run from 11am until 4pm throughout the week.
Join us for our new fun activity – HUNT THE MICE! Twelve toy mice have invaded the site and are hiding around the Museum. Only our younger visitors are small enough to help us find them! They could be anywhere - hiding in our Coffee Shop, in the Grand Magazine or even in the Torpedoes gallery. We must find them quickly, before they eat all our cheese!! This activity is FREE with a valid Museum ticket – simply ask for an activity form on arrival at the Museum.
If you love traditional board games, try ours! Each of the games is in giant scale, and you can even become the counters. Games include Snakes and Ladders, Ludo, Jamenga - all complete with giant dice! Board Games on the green is a FREE activity to Museum visitors and at least one game will be played on the green each day.
Finally, there will be Living History Displays by the ‘Wavy Navy’ Re-enactment Team on Sat 28 – Mon 30 May. Live Firings of the 4.7-inch Gun will take place daily at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. The Wavy Navy will also host special Small Arms object handling sessions in the Museum.
